Accidents happen fast! That’s why the Heart and Stroke Foundation has expanded its training to include first aid as well as CPR and defibrillation, together in one course. Working together, the goal is to get more Canadians ready, willing and able to take action in a cardiac or other medical emergency. Fast action saves lives!

Heartsaver

 

The Heartsaver Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course contains up-to-date content and science from the 2010 Guidelines for CPR and ECC.

 

  • CPR & AED

It is designed to teach lay rescuers the lifesaving skills of CPR and relief of choking in adults, children and infants, as well as how to use an AED with both adults and children. (Training in infant and child CPR and choking relief are optional.)

 

  • CPR & AED (C)

The course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

Healthcare Provider

 

Designed to teach a variety of healthcare professionals how to recognize a number of life-threatening emergencies, how to provide CPR, how to use an AED and how to relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

 

  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (C)

An advanced Heartsaver CPR & AED course designed for healthcare professionals. Includes critical concepts of high-quality CPR for 1 and 2-person rescuers, differences between adult, child, and infant rescue techniques, bag-mask techniques, and rescue breathing and relief of choking for adults, children and infants.

 

  • SFA & BLS (C)

A more advanced Standard First Aid, course designed for healthcare professionals. Includes Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider content.
